Who We Are
There are so many young artists who have raw and authentic talent. Most of them never have the opportunities to express themselves. From personal experience it can be so intimidating to jump into your first performance, especially when most of the other performers have more exposure and are much older than you. This often discourages many from ever conveying their art. Youth Open Mic, however, encourages youth artists to perform while also feeling safe and comfortable. They are free with their art, and don’t feel intimidated, but inspired by their peers and supported by their community.
My vision for Youth Open Mic is to include every middle school and high school throughout Conejo Valley and beyond to be represented…
